Ratibořice

Village in the valley of stream Úpa. First mentioned in the year 1388 as the settlement with fort. The original baroque chateau was built in the year 1708. The building was later rebuilt in Empire style as the summer residence of princess Kateřina Zaháňská. She established beautiful park by the chateau. Famous czech writer Božena Němcová situated here the action of her most famous novel "Babička".
